Over the past year, UroToday has attended prominent conferences in the field of Urology and GU Oncology, not only covering each program’s insightful presentations through written summaries, but also delving into the important discussions and breakthroughs they foster with video content. Videos filmed at 2018 conferences such as ASCO, AUA, SUFU, and the EAU feature leading Urologists and Oncologists explaining the work they present at these conferences and the significance of it in their respective fields, through conversation with experts like Alicia Morgans, Charles Ryan, Diane Newman and Phillip Koo.

In one such video, Cora Sternberg, MD, spoke to Alicia Morgans, MD, at the EAU meeting in Copenhagen this March, about the global PROSPER study, for which she served as a Co-PI. PROSPER was designed to address the unmet need of treatment for patients with non-metastatic castration resistant prostate cancer through the study of enzalutamide and its efficacy.

At the AUA’s annual meeting in San Francisco, J. Kellogg Parsons, MD, presented the results of the Men’s Eating and Living (MEAL) study. Interviewed by Alicia Morgans, Parsons comments in the video on the study and its novel approach to bettering quality of life in prostate cancer patients - through behavioral, dietary changes.

From the same meeting, Michael Cookson, MD, MHHC, told Morgans about the new AUA guidelines for castration resistant prostate cancer treatment - updated this year to include treatment options for men with non-metastatic disease, marking an expansion since previous years when the scope of the guidelines only included mCRPC.

Videos from ASCO include a discussion between Heather Cheng, MD, and Charles Ryan, MD on the value and timing of genetic evaluations for prostate cancer patients, as well as many more important conversations.

Additionally, UroToday is now providing global outreach by attending the following global conferences; Canadian Urological Association, Congress of the Mexican Association of Oncological Urology, European Society for Medical Oncology Annual Congress, Israel Urological Symposium. UroToday will continue to grow and expand our outreach by providing coverage to our readers at international urology conferences.
